Overview

What energy and utilities does for your site.

Energy and utility sites are often remote, hazardous and lightly staffed. Visrax uses existing cameras at substations, plants, pumping stations and yards to monitor perimeter activity, restricted equipment zones, visual indicators of smoke and after-hours movement, and to bring every site into one view for the operations centre.

On-site processing options mean only events and evidence need to travel over limited network links.

Remote sites are only unattended until something happens. Visrax makes sure someone knows when it does.

What it does

Energy and Utilities, piece by piece.

Each part is configured around your cameras, zones and schedules — the same system, set up for the way your site runs.

  1. 01

    Remote site visibility

One view of many unmanned sites with camera health, active alerts and status by region.

  2. 02

    Perimeter events

Zones along fences and gates with approach, crossing and dwell rules, and evidence attached to every alert.

  3. 03

    Hazardous zones

Exclusion zones around high-voltage equipment, tanks and plant, with presence, PPE and dwell rules.

  4. 04

    Equipment-area monitoring

Visual smoke indicators and restricted-entry rules for switch rooms, compressor halls and control buildings.

In practice

Situations your team will recognise.

01

A smoke indicator in a utility area

A compressor hall camera raises a visual smoke indicator. The operations centre is alerted with the frame and clip while certified detection systems remain the primary control.

02

After-hours activity at a substation

A person is detected inside the fence of an unmanned substation at night. Security dispatches a patrol with the clip in hand, and the incident is recorded for the regulator report.

03

A restricted equipment zone

A zone around live switchgear is restricted outside permitted work. An entry raises an alert that is matched to a permit and closed with the reference recorded.

Questions

Energy and Utilities questions

Straight answers about how this is configured, what it needs and what it does not do.

01Can Visrax run at sites with limited connectivity?
Yes. On-site processing options mean video is analysed locally and only events and evidence are transmitted to the central view.
02Is the smoke indicator a substitute for fire detection?
No. It is a visual early warning that complements certified fire detection and alarm systems.
03Can it support permit-to-work processes?
Zone schedules can reflect permitted work windows, and incidents can record permit references when they are closed.
04How does it fit with an existing operations centre?
The multi-site view gives the centre alerts, health and evidence across the estate, with routing to field teams by region.
